Coles Book Club event - Thursday 15th March 2018 @ 7.00pm - Mick Herron - Slow Horses

This is our next 'Coles Book Club' event, an opportunity to meet the author of the book you've just read. We are offering our customers a title we've selected for you to read and the chance to come along to the 'Coles Book Club' for an evening with the author - it's an opportunity to discuss the book with other readers, ask the author questions about the book, have a glass of wine and a general natter about books - just like a book club.

Buy the 'Book Club' book for £8.99 either here online, or in the shop in Bicester, enjoy reading it and then come along to the bookshop on 15th March and meet the author Mick Herron for an evening of discussion. And of course, get your book signed by Mick on the evening - the book you buy from Coles is your ticket for the evening.

A little about the book: 'Slow Horses'

You don't stop being a spook just because you're no longer in the game.

Banished to Slough House from the ranks of achievers at Regent's Park for various crimes of drugs and drunkenness, lechery and failure, politics and betrayal, Jackson Lamb's misfit crew of highly trained joes don't run ops, they push paper.

But not one of them joined the Intelligence Service to be a 'slow horse'.

A boy is kidnapped and held hostage. His beheading is scheduled for live broadcast on the net.

And whatever the instructions of the Service, the slow horses aren't going to just sit quiet and watch . .

Slow Horses is the first of Mick Herron's Jackson Lamb thrillers, Mick will be discussing his other books in this collection, including his new best seller, 'London Rules'

About the Author:
Mick Herron is a novelist and short story writer whose books include the Jackson Lamb series, the first of which - the Steel-Dagger nominated Slow Horses - has been described as the 'most enjoyable British spy novel in years'. The second Jackson Lamb novel, Dead Lions, won the 2013 CWA Goldsboro Gold Dagger, and was picked by the Sunday Times as one of the best 25 crime novels of the past five years. Mick was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, and now lives in Oxford.
