Coles Book Club event - Thursday 23rd May 2019 @ 7.00pm - Helen Jukes - A Honeybee Heart Has Five Openings

This is our May 'Coles Book Club' event, an opportunity to meet the author of the book you've just read. We are offering our customers a title we've selected for you to read and the chance to come along to the 'Coles Book Club' for an evening with the author - it's an opportunity to discuss the book with other readers, ask the author questions about the book, have a glass of wine and a general natter about books - just like a book club.

Buy the 'Book Club' book for £10.00 either here online, or in the shop in Bicester, enjoy reading it and then come along to the bookshop on 23rd May and meet the author Helen Jukes for an evening of discussion. And of course, get your book signed by Helen on the evening - the book you buy from Coles is your ticket for the evening.

A little about the book: 'A Honeybee Heart Has Five Openings'

A fascinating, insightful and inspiring account of a novice beekeeper's year of keeping honeybees, which will appeal to readers of H is For Hawk.

An exploration of the honeybee and the hive, the practices of honey-gathering and the history of our observation of bees; and a beautifully wrought meditation on responsibility and care, on vulnerability and trust, on forging bonds and breaking new ground.

‘Everyone should own A Honeybee Heart Has Five Openings, which moved and delighted me more than a book about insects had any right to … Jukes is a gloriously gifted writer and her book ought to become a key text of this bright moment in our history of nature writing’ Alex Preston, Observer

About the Author:

She lives in the Wye Valley.
