Muzak, by renowned Danish photographer, film-maker and artist Lasse Hoile, showcases the visual collaboration between Lasse and British rock band Porcupine Tree, fronted by Steven Wilson. Including many never-before-seen images from his photography, stage backdrops, films and album art sessions. The book covers the period between critically acclaimed 2002 album In Absentia to the 2009 Grammy-nominated The Incident. Lasse's long-term collaborator and friend Carl Glover hosts a discussion with Lasse on his work with Porcupine Tree, with band members Richard Barbieri, Gavin Harrison, and the bands' former manager Richard Allen taking part.
About the Author: Lasse Hoile is a Dutch artist, photographer and film-maker. Lasse has directed videos and created a number of album sleeves for Porcupine Tree since the release of In Absentia in 2002. Later in 2005, he directed the recording of Porcupine Tree's first live performance DVD, Arriving Somewhere. He also directed Porcupine Tree's music videos "Fear of a Blank Planet". Today, he continues to create various designs used for music videos, posters, and band photography. "Unburdened by the classical definition of what constitutes beauty, Lasse Hoile portrays the human condition as seen from the id, with its subconscious fears brought to the surface and revealed in plain sight." - Carl Glover
