How To Be a Liberal: Thinking for Yourself in a Populist World by Ian Dunt
Hand Signed by Ian Dunt to the Title Page
New & Unread - Published 17th September 2020
From Viktor Orban’s Hungary to Brexit Britain to Donald Trump’s America, liberal values are under attack. In a soaring narrative that stretches from the English Civil War to the French Revolution to the 2008 crash and the rise of populism, political journalist Ian Dunt tells the epic, under-appreciated story of liberalism. At its heart, How To Be A Liberal explains the political ideas that underpin the modern world. But it is also much more than that: it is a rallying cry for those who still believe in freedom and reason.
About the Author: Ian Dunt is a journalist and political commentator in the UK. He is editor of politics.co.uk and appears as a pundit on BBC TV, Sky News and Al-Jazeera. He specialises in immigration, civil liberties and social justice, but his recent work has focused on Brexit. His first book, Brexit: What the Hell Happens Now? (Canbury), revealed the difficulty of leaving the EU before it became apparent to many British politicians. It was a bestseller in the UK.
