About the Author: Dr. R. Vaira Vignesh completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (First Class with Distinction) at Karpagam College of Engineering, an autonomous institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. He holds the distinction of being the first and youngest scholar to embark on the doctoral program directly following his bachelor's degree at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, where he earned a Ph.D. in the Faculty of Engineering for his significant research contributions to magnesium-based biodegradable implant materials. Dr. Vairam's dedication and expertise have garnered him numerous accolades, including the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Chancellor's Publication Award for his outstanding work in the field of solid-state welding and processing of lightweight materials. He secured "Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Chancellor's Collaborative Research Fellowship" to support collaborative research on "Development and indigenization of sustainable Bio-Lubricants for Automotives" with King Mongkut's University of Technology, North Bangkok, Thailand. He presently holds the position of Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) within the Research Track in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Coimbatore Campus). Dr. M. Govindaraju completed B.E in Metallurgical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Salem, in the year 2001 and joined as Engineer at Nonferrous Materials Technology Development Center (NFTDC), Hyderabad in the same year. He served there for 15 years up to 2016 in various capacities including as Principal Scientist, before moving to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in July 2016 as Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering. After joining in NFTDC, he completed M.Tech. (Welding) and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras subsequently. His Ph.D. thesis is on friction stir processing of magnesium alloys. He has industry and research exposure of over ~23 years in various capacities. He has developed technologies for sheet brazing of automotive components and diffusion brazing of honeycomb structures which are transferred to industries. In addition, he is involved in building and indigenization of various process equipment, mainly high technology furnaces for processing of materials for Indian Space Research Organization, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Defence Research and Development Organization and other national programs. He has completed 14 projects and 2 projects are ongoing; published more than 40 articles in international journals and conferences. He has indigenized more than 15 techniques / equipment for various applications in India.Dr. R. Padmanaban brings two decades of extensive experience in mechanical engineering to his role as an editor, creating compelling narratives that reflect his deep expertise. Dr. Padmanaban completed his Ph.D. in friction stir welding. He is currently an associate professor in the department of mechanical engineering at the Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, India. Beyond academia, he is a prolific author, publishing in esteemed international journals and conferences. His areas of expertise span welding, material behaviour, and applying cutting-edge technologies like finite element methods, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to optimize manufacturing processes. In addition to his academic and research contributions, he is an active participant in the engineering community. He frequently conducts seminars, workshops, and presentations, sharing his insights and advancements in the field. He lends his expertise further by serving as a reviewer for international journals. He is a life member of prestigious organizations, including the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Indian Welding Society, reflecting his commitment to the advancement of engineering education and practice.

UK Delivery
Orders for delivery in the UK are normally despatched by Royal Mail, using the RM 48 Tracked Service with most orders delivered to you within a few days of placing your order with us. For larger parcels, Courier and Signed For delivery services may be used. Signed Books are shipped in our specially made book mailing cartons, with the books themselves wrapped in paper to protect them. Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.
The Really Important Bit: Because we use tracked, courier and signed for delivery services, please use an address at which your parcel can be received during the normal working day, for example, you may want to have your order delivered to your work address if you're not at home during the day.

Another Really Important Bit: There are a number of Postcodes in the UK for which we will need to charge a shipping supplement, this will be calculated once we know the size and weight of the shipment. For these orders we will contact customers to agree a suitable and economic method of shipping. There may also be additional time required for delivery to some areas of the United Kingdom. Where possible, we will ship book orders (under 2kg) by Royal Mail to all UK postcodes. Large multiple book orders and books over 2kg are often shipped via APC Overnight or similar, regardless of Postcode.

From 1st July 2021, VAT will be applicable to those EU countries where VAT is applied to books - this additional charge will be collected by Fed Ex (or the Royal Mail) at the time of delivery.

All overseas orders are shipped using a 'signed for' courier service - please provide an address at which your parcel can be signed for on receipt. We use the same packaging materials for our overseas deliveries as we do those in the UK. In some cases, particularly large and heavy books, or books being shipped to remote areas, may incur an additional shipping charge - if this is the case with your order, we'll notify you as quickly as possible of these charges and to arrange the additional payment. You can of course cancel your order with an immediate refund should you not wish to accept these additional costs. Shipments to overseas territories may incur additional Duty & Tax costs which could be requested by Fed Ex at the time of delivery. These costs may vary from country to country and are not within our control and will be in addition to the costs paid to us for your delivery. Collect in Person at Coles Books

Coming by Car
If you're coming to Coles by car, why not take advantage of the 2 hours free parking at Sainsbury's Pioneer Square - just follow the signs for Pioneer Square as you drive into Bicester and park in the multi-storey car park above the supermarket. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. You don't need to shop in Sainsbury's to get the free parking!
