What is a Poetry Broadside?

A ‘broadside’ is a single sheet of paper with print on one side. Often used as a form of poster, they originally carried a message of some kind – perhaps political, or just an opinion – it is where the term ‘to fire off a broadside’ comes from, a barrage of fire aimed at a particular target.
