About the Author: Dr. Nirmal Mazumder is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biophysics, Manipal School of Life Sciences at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in Manipal, India. He earned his Ph.D. in 2013 from the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taipei, Taiwan. Following his doctoral studies, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Virginia in the USA and the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, Italy, from 2013 to 2016. Dr. Mazumder specializes in the development of nonlinear optical microscopes, including technologies such as two-photon fluorescence, second harmonic generation, and coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering, all aimed at biomedical applications. His research extends into developing microscopy-spectroscopy techniques, biomedical devices, biophotonics, smart materials, and microfluidics, with particular attention to their biomedical uses. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed research articles, 8 books, and 25 book chapters and has been an active participant in numerous national and international conferences through posters, oral presentations, and invited lectures. Dr. Mazumder leads several national and bilateral research projects funded by the Government of India as the principal investigator. He also contributes as a reviewer, guest editor, and associate editor for various prestigious journals. He is an active member of various national and international scientific societies and organizations, such as the Optical Society (OPTICA), where he is a senior member, and the SPIE-the International Society for Optical Engineering. Additionally, he holds lifetime memberships in the Society of Biological Chemists (India), the Environmental Mutagen Society of India, the Asian Polymer Association, the Indian Laser Association (ILA), and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSDI).Dr. Rajib Biswas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the School of Sciences, Tezpur University, India. He completed his Ph.D. at CSIR-NEIST in India and has more than 13 years of teaching experience and 15 years of research experience. Dr. Biswas has an impressive publication record, with 144 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, 23 book chapters, and 3 patents. He has also edited 2 books. His research primarily focuses on applied photonics, quantum dots, nanomaterials, and material photonics. Dr. Biswas has secured research funding from various agencies, including BIRAC and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). He is a Life Member of the Earthquake Society of India and an Emeritus Member of the Optical Society of America. Currently, he holds an associate editor position at Frontiers in Physics in the photonics category and serves on the editorial boards of several other peer-reviewed journals.Dr. Guan-Yu Zhuo is an associate professor at the Institute of New Drug Development at China Medical University in Taiwan. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and completed his Ph.D. in Physics at National Taiwan University in 2012. Dr. Zhuo's research primarily focuses on developing advanced optical imaging techniques for applications in biophotonics. His long-term goal is to translate these imaging techniques into clinical settings, enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic methods, particularly using endoscopes and non-invasive treatment of collagenous tissues with short-pulse lasers. His work aims to address and overcome existing challenges in diagnosis and therapy with promising demonstrations and tests in clinical environments.
