OL 166 from the Oakwood library of railway history series.

This apparently uncomplicated line from Hereford to Brecknock was actually built by three companies, namely the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway, the Mid-Wales Railway and the Brecon and Merthyr Railway. In fact, the history is complex and tortuous and is dealt with at length in chapter one, the historical outline, which runs from the early proposals ending with nationalisation and then closure. Chapter two deals with the line's operation and includes passenger services, goods trains, motive, followed by an epilogue, a bibliography, and an index.
