This handbook covers the transformation of conventional to smart manufacturing technologies and the impact of smart manufacturing on industrial engineering.
Smart manufacturing technologies are highly efficient and reliable and produce high-quality products. They involve autonomous and robotic systems, the Internet of Things, simulation, system integration, and additive manufacturing. These technologies enable industries to make better decisions and respond quickly to changing market conditions. They are used in various fields, including science, medicine, healthcare, and biotechnology. This handbook covers the transformation of conventional to smart manufacturing technologies and the impact of smart manufacturing on industrial engineering.Handbook of Smart Manufacturing Technologies: Industrial Engineering in the Digital Age covers various smart technologies related to the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, 3D/4D printing, Sustainability, and Machine Learning. It also includes case studies of conventional, advanced, and smart manufacturing, based on real-world aspects. One of the novel aspects of this book is that it provides surface integrity parameters related to machined parts manufacturing and features new product design and development by adapting control algorithms and mechatronics-assisted manufacturing technologies. Furthermore, it offers information on smart manufacturing technologies and their industrial applications. This handbook is intended to be a useful resource for industrialists, researchers, academicians, or anyone who deals with manufacturing and industrial engineering.
