About the Author: Dr M.R. Fassihi is a BHP Distinguished Advisor Emeritus with primary responsibilities including technical assurance, competency development within the company, identification and development of emerging and white-space technology opportunities, and provision of technological advice and counsel to senior management. He was the Technical Liaison in Joint Industry Projects on CO2 sequestration, alternative energy including geothermal and innovative technologies for mineral extraction. Dr Fassihi has over 40 years of experience in petroleum research, development, and management of both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. His previous companies of affiliations were Arco, Amoco, and BP. As a founder of Beyond Carbon, LLC, he is currently providing consulting services on reservoir management, project assurance, CCS with a focus on how to reduce the carbon footprint in the energy industry. Dr Fassihi has published more than 45 peer reviewed publications and is the author of the SPE Monograph on "Low-Energy Processes for Unconventional-Oil Recovery". He has won numerous awards including: the SPE Student Paper Contest, PhD Division (1980), Best Paper Award at the 1988 CIM Meeting, SPE Distinguished Lecturer (2003), The international IOR Pioneer Award, Tulsa (2018), and the SPE Distinguished Member Award (2018).Jean-Pierre "JP" Blangy is currently (2017-Present) a Practice Lead for Geophysics at BHP Petroleum, where he provides technical guidance in subsurface matters. He was Chief Geophysicist for Hess from 2010-2016, where he was responsible for the Geophysics Department within Science & Technology as well as providing technical assurance for major projects across the enterprise. Blangy has more than 30 years of experience in the oil-and-gas industry. Prior to BHP and Hess, he spent 19 years with Amoco/BP, where he served in various management and technical roles across the Exploration, Appraisal and Production value chains as well as Mergers & Acquisitions. Blangy began his career with Unocal (1986-1989). Blangy has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers in a broad spectrum of topics in Geophysics and Rock Mechanics. He holds a BSc in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines, MSc degrees in Exploration from Stanford University and in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston, as well as a PhD in Rock Physics from Stanford.

UK Delivery
Orders for delivery in the UK are despatched by Courier and Signed For delivery services and will normally be delivered to you within a few days of placing your order. Signed Books are shipped in our specially made book mailing cartons, with the books themselves wrapped in paper to protect them. Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.
The Really Important Bit: Because we use courier and signed for delivery services, please use an address at which your parcel can be signed for during the normal working day, for example, you may want to have your order delivered to your work address if you're not at home during the day.

Another Really Important Bit: There are a number of Postcodes in the UK for which we will need to charge a shipping supplement, this will be calculated once we know the size and weight of the shipment. For these orders we will contact customers to agree a suitable and economic method of shipping. There may also be additional time required for delivery to some areas of the United Kingdom. Where possible, we will ship single book orders (under 2kg) by Royal Mail to all UK postcodes. Multiple book orders and books over 2kg are shipped via APC Overnight, regardless of Postcode.

If you're coming to Coles by car, why not take advantage of the 2 hours free parking at Sainsbury's Pioneer Square - just follow the signs for Pioneer Square as you drive into Bicester and park in the multi-storey car park above the supermarket. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. You don't need to shop in Sainsbury's to get the free parking!
