Mighty Miler is the true story of ultrarunning champion, coach, and New York City schoolteacher Keila Merino. An immigrant from Mexico, she discovered running in the schoolyards of Arizona and has harnessed the sport to hurdle barriers of language, gender, and class. Today she competes around the world and shares a message of optimism, hard work, and kindness that has shaped the lives of her students-many of whom are immigrants-as much as it has her own. Keila's story shows that by following one's passion and helping others, one can achieve the American dream.

About the Author: Keila Merino is one of the most gifted long-distance runners in the United States. She was the first finisher, man or woman, in the inaugural Greater New York 100 Mile Race in 2012, and in 2013, she placed third in her first attempt at the legendary Leadville Trail 100 Run in Colorado. In 2014, Merino is also one of only a handful of elite runners to complete the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning-the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run, the Vermont 100 Endurance Run, the Leadville Trail 100, and the Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run-in three months. She has won the New York Road Runners Knickerbocker 60K and twice been named NYRR Ultrarunner of the Year. Her next challenge is to raise funds for charity by running from Los Angeles to New York in a record-breaking time.A teacher in the New York City public school system, Keila has helped incorporate running into the routines of thousands of elementary school students, many of them first- or second-generation Americans. Her family immigrated to the United States from Mexico when she was nine years old, and running gave her confidence and a sense of identity during that challenging transition. She lives in Manhattan and teaches in Queens. "Keila's commitment to running is extraordinary," says Peter Ciaccia, former president of events for New York Road Runners and former race director of the TCS New York City Marathon. "She's the class of New York when it comes to competing at long distances. Now it's time for America to see how strong she is."

UK Delivery

Orders for delivery in the UK are normally despatched by Royal Mail, using the RM 48 Tracked Service with most orders delivered to you within a few days of placing your order with us. For larger parcels, Courier and Signed For delivery services may be used. Signed Books are shipped in our specially made book mailing cartons, with the books themselves wrapped in paper to protect them. Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.

The Really Important Bit: Because we use tracked, courier and signed for delivery services, please use an address at which your parcel can be received during the normal working day, for example, you may want to have your order delivered to your work address if you're not at home during the day.

First Item @ £3.75 (sometimes a shipping supplement may be added for particularly heavy books or specific postcodes*)
2 Items & over @ £5.00 in total

Another Really Important Bit: There are a number of Postcodes in the UK for which we will need to charge a shipping supplement, this will be calculated once we know the size and weight of the shipment. For these orders we will contact customers to agree a suitable and economic method of shipping. There may also be additional time required for delivery to some areas of the United Kingdom. Where possible, we will ship book orders (under 2kg) by Royal Mail to all UK postcodes. Large multiple book orders and books over 2kg are often shipped via APC Overnight or similar, regardless of Postcode.
