Yes, we can touch the intangible - and be our best selves. Captivating.Wendy Teasdill, BWY Yoga Teacher Trainer, Yogi, Writer Yogi Ramacharaka deftly explains concepts from the Raja Yoga tradition for a western audience, blending them with specific techniques - and the optimistic spirit - of Occultism. This new edition by Bamboo Leaf is very good, with a great design and excellent footnotes.David Rogers,Yogi, International Yoga Instructor Raja Yoga focuses on two key elements of spiritual and personal development: cultivating attention and mental focus. I cannot agree more, especially in our contemporary, super fast digitalized and soundbite inflicted world.Michael Gansrow, Co-Founder Massage on the Go, Wellness Expert, Author The Science of Raja Yoga teaches the Control of the Mind. It holds that the internal world must be conquered before the outer world is attacked... It aims to clear away all mental rubbish and encumbrances to conduct a mental house cleaning, as it were, and to secure a clear, clean, healthy mind. A Series of Lessons in Raja Yoga addresses the branch of yoga that focuses on mental development and concentration. The series consists of twelve lessons that set readers on a path to a greater understanding of themselves and their latent powers. Written 120 years ago, this book, as well as its two precursors (Fourteen Lessons in Yogi Philosophy and Advanced Course) is part of a series of books that introduced in simple language Eastern philosophy to a Western audience. Some of the subjects explored in the book: How to cultivate mental control How to cultivate ones Attention, Perception, Memory How to train the mind to materialize thoughts into action How to use the subconscious mind to modify ones behavior and character Eleven meditation mantras and exercises are also included for the readers personal and spiritual growth. Republished by Bamboo Leaf Press, this edition includes a foreword by Richard Rosen, the renowned yoga teacher and writer. This is a high-quality printed book with a stitch-binding that allows you to open the book flat on a desk without the pages falling out while reading.

About the Author: ADVANCED COURSE IN YOGI PHILOSOPHY is a continuation of the classic, Fourteen Lessons in Yogi Philosophy. It should be read after one has read the Fourteen Lessons since many concepts are introduced in the first book. Both books were written 120 years ago yet they remain the best introduction to yogi philosophy for a Western audience. The Advanced Course delves deeper into Indian philosophy and explores some of humanitys perennial questions. The lessons of the course are written in a simple, charming, and straightforward style. Some of the subjects explored in the book: The three main paths of yoga: Karma, Gnani, and Bhakti; Spiritual consciousness; Yogi Ethics (Dharma); The relationship between Matter, Energy, Mind, and Spirit; The Absolute and Man; The Riddle of the Universe. Republished by Bamboo Leaf Press, this new modern edition includes a foreword by Richard Rosen, the renowned yoga teacher and writer. The printing is of the highest quality and has a stitch-binding that allows you to open the book flat on a desk without the pages falling out while reading. You are the most precious thing -- a living soul -- and if you were destroyed the whole system of universes would crumble, for you are as necessary as the greatest part of it -- it cannot do without you -- you cannot be lost or destroyed -- you are part of it all, and are eternal.
