Najmieh Batmanglijs cookbook, Food of Life: Ancient Persian and Modern Iranian Cooking and Ceremonies was mentioned as One of the most exciting cookbooks Ive seen in a while by Yotam Ottolenghi in the Guardian, and her From Persia to Napa: Wine at the Persian Table won the Gourmand Cookbook Award for the worlds best wine history book of 2007. She has spent the past 33 years traveling, teaching cooking, and adapting authentic Persian and Silk Road recipes to tastes and techniques in the West. She is a member of Les Dames dEscoffier and has taught and lectured throughout the United States. She currently lives in Washington, DC, where she consults with restaurants around the world and teaches master classes in Persian and Silk Road cooking. Her most recent book is Happy Nowruz: Cooking with Children to Celebrate the Persian New Year.
About the Author: Najmieh Batmanglij, is an acclaimed American chef, cooking instructor, best-selling cookbook author, and co-founder and executive chef of the award winning Persian restaurant Joon, in Vienna Virginia. She was hailed as "one of seven immigrant women who changed the way Americans eat" by The New York Times, and The Grande Dame of Iranian Cooking by Mayukh Sen in The Washington Post. Her latest book Cooking in Iran: Regional Recipes & Kitchen Secrets, was the culmination of tens of thousands of miles of travel through Iran, and chosen as one of the best cookbooks of 2018, and called "magisterial" by The New York Times. Batmanglij views preparing a meal not only as a culinary experience, but also as a means to bring family and friends together. She encourages her readers to use her books as she was taught in Iran, to cook, to laugh, to tell jokes and stories, to recite poetry, and to enjoy the meal. UK Delivery
Orders for delivery in the UK are normally despatched by Royal Mail, using the RM 48 Tracked Service with most orders delivered to you within a few days of placing your order with us. For larger parcels, Courier and Signed For delivery services may be used. Signed Books are shipped in our specially made book mailing cartons, with the books themselves wrapped in paper to protect them. Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.
The Really Important Bit: Because we use tracked, courier and signed for delivery services, please use an address at which your parcel can be received during the normal working day, for example, you may want to have your order delivered to your work address if you're not at home during the day.

Where possible, we will ship book orders (under 2kg) by Royal Mail to all UK postcodes. Large multiple book orders and books over 2kg are often shipped via APC Overnight or similar, regardless of Postcode.

If you're coming to Coles by car, why not take advantage of the 2 hours free parking at Sainsbury's Pioneer Square - just follow the signs for Pioneer Square as you drive into Bicester and park in the multi-storey car park above the supermarket. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. You don't need to shop in Sainsbury's to get the free parking!
