The Gadget Show: The Big Book of Cool Stuff by Craig Charles (Hardback)
Full digital and physical marketing campaign. National & local radio author interviews, BBC's The One Show. Features in national newspapers, TV listings, computer & tech magazines. End of show pre-awareness and part of The Gadget Show 'Big' competition.
The Gadget Show, first launched in 2004, is one of the UK's longest running returnable formats, providing its TV audience access to the largest gadget reviews and technological innovations. Based in the studio, the team, which includes Craig Charles, Georgie Barrat, Ortis Deley and Jon Bentley, inform the audience about the latest consumer gadgets to hit the market in a lively and engaging way, keeping viewers fully entertained until the end of each episode.
The show is aimed at giving the mass consumer an insight into the gadget world, but also gives adequate information for the more "geeky" or knowledgeable audience, while still remaining accessible to the more casual viewer. The Gadget Show: The Big Book of Cool Stuff is a beautiful hardback book that takes the reader on a journey through the many gadgets they either have read about or heard of, to the ones they use, are about to invest in, or dream about owning. The book also discusses what the future could look like if all our lives could be made easier and more fun by gadgets.
Contributors include: Craig Charles, Georgie Barrat, Ortis Deley, Jon Bentley, Harry Wallop, Jordan Erica-Webber.
About the Author: Craig is an actor, comedian, author, poet, DJ and, of course, Gadget Show presenter since 2017. He is known for his legendary character Dave Lister in sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, Lloyd Mullaney in Coronation Street and as a funk and soul DJ on BBC Radio 6 Music. And before his time on the Gadget Show, he was no stranger to the world of high tech machines thanks to fronting Robot Wars from 1998 to 2004. Georgie is one of the UK's leading technology journalists and broadcaster and had been presenting on The Gadget Show since 2017. She graduated from Kings College London with a First in English Literature, has a Diploma in Radio Production and has recently learned how to code with the 'Code First: Girls' program. Georgie has also completed the London Marathon and Tough Mudder for charity. She writes about tech for a range of publications including Marie Claire, The Mirror, Metro & Tech City News and has been seen on the likes of ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC. Georgie is passionate about getting more girls into coding and works alongside two charities (STEMettes, Baytree Centre) to help encourage 11-14 year-olds to study STEM subjects at GCSE & beyond. Ortis has now been a member of The Gadget Show team for over ten years. With his love of science and technology starting at a young age and a passion for all things sci-fi and comic book related, he's a bonafide super geek. Alongside his tech credentials, he has an honours degree in Pharmacy and is also a qualified personal trainer to boot. Other credits include The Bill, Silent Witness and Doctors on BBC One, and several CBBC dramas, and even starred opposite Clive Owen & Jennifer Aniston in Derailed and Noel Clarke & Rafe Spall in cult flick Kidulthood. Jon Bentley is the longest running Gadget Show presenter, having been on the team since the beginning in 2004, and is now widely respected as one of the most informed and honest technology journalists in Britain. Jon started his life in television on BBC2's Top Gear, becoming Executive Producer of the show between 1987 and 1999; one of the Top Gear test track corners is named after him. Jon was responsible for launching the TV careers of Jeremy Clarkson, Quentin Willson and Vicki Butler-Henderson. Jon's unrivalled enthusiasm for the world of technology has seen him test tech in a multiplicity of environments, including translators on the back of a camel in Tunisia, cameras at snowballing championships in Finland, 4K TVs at the world famous Aardman Studios, and walking boots with actor Brian Blessed in deepest Surrey.

Orders for delivery in the UK are normally despatched by Royal Mail, using the RM 48 Tracked Service with most orders delivered to you within a few days of placing your order with us. For larger parcels, Courier and Signed For delivery services may be used. Signed Books are shipped in our specially made book mailing cartons, with the books themselves wrapped in paper to protect them. Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.
The Really Important Bit: Because we use tracked, courier and signed for delivery services, please use an address at which your parcel can be received during the normal working day, for example, you may want to have your order delivered to your work address if you're not at home during the day.
First Item @ £3.75 (sometimes a shipping supplement may be added for particularly heavy books or specific postcodes*)
2 Items & over @ £5.00 in total
Another Really Important Bit: There are a number of Postcodes in the UK for which we will need to charge a shipping supplement, this will be calculated once we know the size and weight of the shipment. For these orders we will contact customers to agree a suitable and economic method of shipping. There may also be additional time required for delivery to some areas of the United Kingdom. Where possible, we will ship book orders (under 2kg) by Royal Mail to all UK postcodes. Large multiple book orders and books over 2kg are often shipped via APC Overnight or similar, regardless of Postcode.
